Vernon White Gets Suspended.

vernon_white321.jpgVernon “Tiger” White has officially been suspended 9 months by NSAC(Nevada State Athletic Commision) due to a positive test result for the banned substance Hydroclorothiazide(a diuretic). White was suspended and since the drug test dated to a match at Xtreme Fighting Association on May 31 he was fined his $2000 win bonus, and his record was changed from a win to a no contest.
Not only did the fight cost him money it also cost him an upcoming fight as part of the mega-card being put on by Affliction in which he would have gained considerable spot-light time in his matchup with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

White seemed contrite as he was quoted on MMA Weekly as saying “I’m not going to try to talk myself out of trouble, it was a stupid mistake.”

As another MMA fighter tests positive for a banned substance, it furthers the stereotypes that abound from mainstream MMA. White was replaced by former UFC fighter Edwin Dewees, as he had signed a multi-fight deal with Affliction. Look for the two to lock up on July 19th at the Honda Center in Anahiem, California, and look for The MMA News to have everything from pre-show to live results, to post comments.
