Jesse Taylor Could Be Out Of UFC Over Jackson Remarks.
Steve Cofield of Yahoo sports is blogging that UFC middleweight and well known TUF evictee Jesse Taylor could once again be in the “doghouse” with UFC. While Taylor hasn’t had a “pee” episode like he did on TUF, he did make a remark about Quinton “Rampage” Jackson that seems to have offended UFC officials enough to keep him out of the octagon.
Taylor was quoted by Cofield as saying “What goes around, comes around, I guess”, and showed little if any sympathy to Jackson’s situation. Taylor may not have known about Jackson’s mental situation and so backtracked when Yahoo! followed up, and the much more contrite Taylor said “I feel bad for the guy. Being on top of the fighting world and then not being there is going to destroy you. I think it was tough to handle for the guy. I wish he gets better, I didn’t know he was in this situation. He’s in a lot worse situation than I was in.”
Unfortunately for Taylor word is that he’s still on the outs with UFC management, and whether or not he’ll be in the UFC remains to be seen. Add to this situation his loss in round 1 to CB Dollaway and Taylor’s career in the UFC is in serious jepardy. Taylor will have to figure a way to get into UFC’s good books, and prove he deserves a spot over the scores of other fighters who are looking to stay with the #1 promotion in MMA.
The MMA News opinion staff did a piece on whether there’s a double standard in UFC regarding their handling of Taylor and Jackson. You can check it out by clicking here.
