EliteXC Cancels September 20 Card.
EliteXC has cancelled its upcoming September 20th card which was to take place at The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was to broadcast on Showtime as well. The event boasted some of EliteXC’s big name fighters including a headline bout involving Joey Villasenor, and was rumored to have fighter Jake Shields and the creation of a new 140 championship belt.
No reason was given for the sudden pullout, but perhaps the CBS Primetime EliteXC Saturday Night Fights had something to do with it. MMA insiders believe that with the lower numbers for the second show, the third is a make or break for EliteXC and CBS and so the focus could be on that October 4th card. The card will bring the return of EliteXC’s biggest stars Gina”Crush” Carano, and Kimbo Slice, and ProElite the parent company for EliteXC will also be running several other fights cards under their “Umbrella”.
The MMA News will keep you up to date on all card changes.
