UFC President Dana White Not Impressed With Pacquiao-De La Hoya.
UFC President Dana White didn’t seem very impressed by the recent Manny Pacquiao vs Oscar De La Hoya boxing match, and while the fight wasn’t what everyone expected it should still draw major pay-per-view numbers thanks to the Golden Boy. White recently spoke to Yahoo!Sports, here’s the quote:
“Did you see the production? And that was HBO. Maybe they should give us some of their Emmys. The pacing was awful. There was no energy in the crowd. They had to loop Pacquiao’s music when he came out because he had to walk so far…. I love boxing as a sport and I came from boxing, but this was a bad day for boxing. [Floyd] Mayweather’s probably running out of money and will probably return to face Pacquiao, and I’d pick Mayweather in that one, but nobody is going to draw like De La Hoya does.”
Boxing continues to have issues, and with a heavyweight division that isn’t attracting too many fans, and a potential retirement by De La Hoya it looks like things for MMA, and the UFC are looking up.
