UFC Fighters Speak Out Against Machida Decision
The Yahoo! Sports blog has compiled a few comments from UFC fighters who spoke out against Saturdays unanimous decision awarding the controversial victory to Lyoto Machida over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
In a fight that was scored 48-47 for Machida, the common term used was “robbed” to describe their opinion of the fight. Other fighters, like Shane Carwin, noted that the decision was “further proof you have to finish as the judges can’t score MMA.”
Rua himself has even stated that he toned down his aggressiveness in the third and fourth rounds after his corner told him he had won the first three.
However this turns out, it will almost assuredly turn into a rematch for the two sometime in 2010.
