Brock Lesnar Still Too Ill To Train
Kevin Iole at Yahoo! Sports talked with UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s coach, Greg Nelson of the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy, who says his fighter is still to sick to train.
“I’m not sure exactly what it is he has, mono or whatever, but I know that he was sick and couldn’t get a good, hard workout in,” Nelson said. “There’s a big difference between making an appearance and smiling and waving at a football game and going out and doing what he has to do in his training.”
Lesnar had been scheduled to fight Shane Carwin in the main event as part of UFC 106 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Nov. 21 but due to an illness Lesnar withdrew from the match siting his inability to train properly. Their fight has been tentatively rescheduled for Jan. 2 as part of UFC 108 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
