"Cro Cop" And Rothwell Tagged For UFC 110 In Australia

Sherdog.com has confirmed with multiple sources that both fighters have made verbal agreements to face one another to meet on Feb. 21 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. The event has yet to be confirmed by UFC officials with the main event featuring a middleweight bout between Wanderlei Silva vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama.

Both fighters are coming off of disappointing losses and will look to improve their record.

Filipović was defeated by Junior dos Santos following a second-round verbal submission after sustaining a knuckle in his eye that impaired his vision. The Croatian talked about retiring following the loss but changed his mind shortly afterwords. The former Pride champion has a record of 2-3 within the UFC but has before the loss to Santos won his previous two bouts, which included a controversial victory over Mostapha Al-Turk at UFC 99, and Hong Man Choi at the Dynamite!! 2008 event.

Rothwell lost his UFC debut to Cain Velasquez by TKO in the second round of their UFC 104 match, a loss the former IFL fighter contests as an early and unnecessary stoppage. He had put together a thirteen fight win streak before going 1-2 in his past three fights which include the loss to Velasquez as well as to Andrei Arlovski.
