Mark Coleman Will Face Randy Couture At UFC 109
With the main event bout for UFC 109 in question, the UFC has booked a light-heavyweight bout between MMA legends Mark Coleman (16-9) and Randy Couture (17-10) as a possible replacement.
Vice president of Coleman sponsor MMA Authentics, Mike DiSabato, confirmed the bout with MMAjunkie.com on Saturday saying ‘The Hammer’ has signed the bout agreement. “Better now than never!”
An report from earlier in the month announced the fight, which Couture confirmed in a post from his official Twitter account.
With the main event bout between UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva and challenger Vitor Belfort all but canceled, fans could see this match moved into the vacant slot in order to sell tickets.
The current rumored UFC 109 card appears as follows:
-
- Mark Coleman vs. Randy Couture*
- Nate Marquardt vs. Chael Sonnen*
- Demian Maia vs. Dan Miller*
- Matt Serra vs. Frank Trigg*
- Rob Emerson vs. Phillipe Nover*
- Rolles Gracie vs. Mostapha Al Turk*
