UFC 110 Update, Brian Foster To Face Chris Lytle

Brian FosterAfter an injury to Dong Hyun Kim (12-0-1) forced him from to withdraw from a bout against Chris Lytle (27-17-5) a month ago, a new opponent has been named. Welterweight Brian Foster (13-4) will step in and face Lytle as part of the preliminary card in Australia at UFC 110.

UFC 110, which is already sold out, takes place Sunday, Feb. 21, at Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. With the time difference, the show airs on pay-per-view in the U.S. live on Saturday, Feb. 20, in its normal 10 p.m. ET timeslot.

The news was posted by Foster on his MySpace page and confirmed by MMAjunkie.com.

Foster has gone 4-1 in his past five bouts, including a 1-1 record in the UFC. He defeated Brock Larson via TKO in his last match as part of UFC 106 last month. He lost to Rick Story at UFC 103 in a bout that earned both men “Fight of the Night” honors.

Lytle hasn’t put together more than one win in a row in his past six bouts, going 3-3 since the fall of 2007. Whenever he’s stepped into the octagon, Lytle has impressed UFC officials winning six “Fight Night” honors in his ten UFC bouts. He’s won three straight “Fight of the Night” honors which included his unanimous decision victory over Kevin Burns at the TUF 9 Finale.
