Mostapha Al-Turk Facing Visa Issues For UFC 109

Mostapha_Al-turkUFC heavyweight fighter Mostapha Al-Turk (6-5) is having some issues with his travel visa which would allow him to travel to Las Vegas.

Al-Turk is scheduled to meet Rolles Gracie (3-0), who makes his UFC debut, on the preliminary card of UFC 109 Relentless at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Feb. 6th.

Sources close to the situation informed MMAWeekly.com about the visa problems on Friday, stating that if Al-Turk is not able to make the fight, Gracie would face an alternate opponent.

No time line was given by UFC officials on how long Al-Turk had to resolve his visa issues before the promotion named a new opponent.

Al-Turk has fought twice in the UFC, losing both bouts against Mirko Cro Cop and Cheick Kongo. The loss to “Cro Cop” was bit controversial after Al-Turk suffered a severe eye poke, which was missed by the referee, allowing the Croatian to finish the bout.

Gracie has a 3-0 professional record competing twice with the Art of War promotion in China. He’s defeated Australian Peter Graham and Russian Baga Agaev in both bouts.
