During this past weekends Strikeforce event, Frank Shamrock (23-10-2) said he was looking at making his return in May of this year.

MMAWeekly.com has confirmed that Shamrock’s opponent will be another MMA legend Pat Miletich (29-7-2). Both men have made verbal agreements to meet in May.

Shamrock will make his first appearance in the cage since coming off back-to-back loses to Cung Le and Nick Diaz. Both Diaz and Shamrock fought in April of last year, with the younger fighter earning a TKO victory in the second. Shamrock has put together a 1-3 record over his past three bouts.

Miletich hasn’t fought since December of 2008, defeating Thomas Denny via KO at an Adrenaline MMA event. Before that bout he lost to Renzo Gracie in September of 2006 and a loss to Matt Lindland at UFC 36 in 2002.

No official announcement has come from Strikeforce concerning it’s May event, but it should come on the heels of it’s April CBS card.
