As any of our fans know, TheMMANews.com is all about the true fight fan. We cover everything MMA (not just the UFC) and are #1 in the world at comprising and publishing the most relevant and important information that TRUE fight fans want to know.
What you might not know is that the ownership is comprised of three main business partners.
Wayne Mockford heads up our writing team. He’s the man behind putting together every story that has gone up for the last four and a half years. And to be clear, that’s over 12,000 stories he’s posted!!! I’m not even kidding, 12k!
Wayne has been with TheMMANews.com longer than anyone else on the ownership team.
Terry Thiara works both on the business end and the content parts of TheMMANews.com. Terry fought five professional MMA fights in his brief professional fighting career. He can be seen here pictured with heavyweight legend Dan Henderson.
Jeff McLeod is the head of business development for TheMMANews.com. The newest member of the ownership team, Jeff is responsible for making the TheMMANews.com sustain as a business for a long time to come.
Why we sell the items we sell
TheMMANews.com is looking to provide our fight fans the merchandise and gear they really want. Truthfully, we started with Round 5 MMA Figures because we love them! Round 5 makes some badass and really fun figures that we thought any true fight fan would enjoy. As time goes on we are looking to add more merch, clothing (T’s, hoodies, sweats, etc) then eventually training gear. But only if our fans speak out and tell us what they like!
Where we are located
TheMMANews.com is a virtual company, meaning we don’t have a central head office. All of our team members work remotely. Terry manages our fulfillment from Prince George, BC (hometown for both him and Jeff).
How long we have been in business
TheMMANews.com started in 2007 by aggregating the most useful fight news on the web into one place. Since those humble beginnings we’ve grown significantly to be one of the biggest, and most visited MMA news sites on the web (and the best in our opinion!)
How long we have been running our online shop
The online store started in August of 2011, carrying just 20 items, all of which were Round 5 MMA Figures.
