   One of the great thgins about the UFC (and why I no longer watch boxing) is that the fights are not orchestrated, and thgins on paper are just that, on paper. Nothing is decided until the door to the Octagon is closed and it’s two men inside. You can talk all you want, but at some point, you have to show and prove. Silva has not been tested for quite some time. Who’s fault is that? I think it falls to his opponents to test his mettle. Nobody could push Silva until Sonnen, because we all know you learn far more in a loss than you ever do in a victory. Sonnen believed that he had seen all that Silva could or couldn’t do, but he was wrong. Champions find a way to win. D. Wade says, “Fall down 7 times, get up 8.” That’s a victory. He thought he could put the pressure on the Spider and he would give the way all the others who stood in front of him did. He was very wrong. All it took was one moment of complacency, and it was all over. My favorite line from “Batman Begins” is when Alfred asks Bruce “Why do we fall? So we can learn to get back up.” That’s a true champion. You, my friend, are a champion. Life can, will, and must test us. We show our kids what it means to rebound from defeat, and you are going to be a fantastic example. I’m in your corner, Champ.
